John 4:24
Hello, Hopewell Friends!
The Bible verse from your desk calendar today is from John 4:24. It says, “God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Through the Bible, which is God's Word and truth, we know that God is an omnipresent God. He is Spirit, and He is around us everywhere. As humans, this can be hard to grasp. Yet, His Word says we cannot flee from His presence. While this may sound strange, how comforting it is to know that we do not have to go to a church, temple or any place of worship to find God. He is near to us all day and night. We can talk to him and lean on Him anytime. Because we know and trust Him, we can look to Him for protection, strength, comfort and to be our refuge. Remember, He knows us completely. He knows our thoughts, hopes, worries, things we've done and said, and yet He still loves us wholeheartedly. With awareness of that, never be afraid to talk to God throughout the day or night. He wants you to know Him, lean on Him, trust Him, and praise Him for Who He is!! Thank Him throughout the day for small things like a peaceful class session or even a good cup of coffee. And, if you’re having a bad moment, simply ask Him to give you strength to get through the next hour. He loves when we draw close to Him because He is already near to us.
Here's my prayer for you today:
Heavenly Father, my prayer for the person listening today is that they will know who You truly are. You are the God who is everywhere. You are always near to us, and You want us to go to You daily, not only with our gratitude but also, with our worries and cares. I pray the staff and students at Hopewell High will acknowledge that the Spirit of God is everywhere. I pray that each person at Hopewell will lean on You daily, talk to You daily, and seek You for comfort and strength. May You, God, go before them today and be with them wherever they go. May they know without a doubt that You, God, will never leave them or forsake them. We do not have to be afraid or discouraged. We have You. For You are the God who is always near to us. We thank You and praise You. In Jesus’ Holy Name. Amen!
